VHF/UHF COMPETITION “TESLA MEMORIJAL”

R U L E S

 

1. »TESLA MEMORIJAL« contest is dedicated to NIKOLA TESLA (1856-1943), the world-wide known scientist, a Serb by origin, who discovered polyphase electricity and radio.

2. ORGANIZER: The Union of radio amateurs of Vojvodina, Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 1/6, 21000  Novi Sad

3. DATE AND TIME: The first full weekend of July, from 14:00 GMT  Saturday till  14:00 GMT Sunday

Except in the category S, the competitors are not separated by number of operators, neither by their location. Once chosen location and callsign must not be changed during the contest. A station can appear in one of the categories on 144 MHz: B, C, D, S or G only.

-In the category H the stations with same callsign participate. It stands for the absolute category in which the station are ranked by the place achieved in the categories participated: A, one of B, C, D, S or G, as well as E and F.

-In the category T the stations from Serbia participate only, with different callsigns, but one station per sategories A, B, C, D, S, E and F only. These teams are made of 4 to 7 different stations with the same name. Their team leader is obligued to announce the team to the Organizer 48 hours before the contest beginning lately.

The announcement has to contain: the team leader name and callsign, the name of the team, the station callsigns, the category in which all individual competitors will work, and the QTH locator of each team station. Each team station is allowed to chose any location. The station paricipating in a category, gives its points to its team, as mentioned in paragraph 9. The Organizer will confirm such announcement.

-The stations outside Serbia participate in all categories as domestic, except in the categories H and T and are ranked in categories: I (Absolute category) and I/A, I/B, I/C, I/D, I/S, I/E, I/F, I/G.

Each station has to work according to the IARU I Band plan, exisiting regulations in its country, within its licence condition.

7. EMISSIONS PERMITTED: In the categories A, B, C, D, S, E, and F allowed are CW, SSB and FM, in the category G FM only.

8. EXCHANGINGS:  station callsigns, report, and serial number starting from 001 on each band, increasing by one for the every next qso, as well as WW QTH locator i qso confirmation.

9. SCORING:  The final score in categories A, B, C, D, E, F, G is given by addition of QRB points and QTH points.

QTH POINTS: each different QTH field (KN05, KN04...) worked for the first time on a band, gives 1000 points, what has to be marked in the log submitted.

-In the categories H, T and I, the score is counted by addition of points achieved in each individual category, in the way that the first place in a category is worth 100 points. All other places give points according to the percentage of the points won by the first place.

 

10. LOG is made separately for each band and must consist of:

Date, Time (GMT), Callsign of the station worked, reports exchanged, qso serial numbers, WW QTH locator of the station worked, QRB points, QTH points, and mode.

SUMMARY SHEET is made for each category separately and must consist of:

The log has to be submitted 15 days after the contest finished lately, by e-mail to:

tesla@srv.org.yu

or by ordinary mail to SRV: Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 1/6, 21000 Novi Sad.

The log in electronic form is a must if consists of more than 10 contacts.

It must be in EDI format.

 

11. The Organizer will:

-  confirm reception of logs in electronic form within 24 hours.

- check all logs received and announce results up to September 1 for that year.

- announce unofficial results up to November 1 for that year.

- announce official results up to December 31 for that year.

A complaint can be submitted on the announced results up to 8 days after announcement, to VHF/UHF SRV Commission. The Commission decision is final.

The results will be announced by the Contest manager and placed on the SRV site

He wll also publish the results in ham magazines and send to national ham unions.

12. TROPHIES AND PRIZES:

- Serbian stations: diplom and trophy for the first place in each category. Diplom for the 2nd up to 6th place. The best station in the category H will be given the temporary SRV CUP. The station winning the cup three years continuously or 5 years intermittently will hold the cup for good.

- Stations outside Serbia: In the category I, the first positioned station will be given a trophy and a prize. In the categories I/A, I/B, I/C, I/D, I/S, I/E, I/F, I/G, the first stations will be given prizes.

The prizes will be handed in on the annual SRV conference.

13. Point will not be counted for:

Doubled qsos, not confirmed qsos in the other logs, qso time errors higher than 10 minutes, not completed qsos, not contest valid qsos.

A station will be disqualified if breaking rules, falsifying qsos, giving wrong QTH locator, work out of band plan, jamming etc.

14. Not valid qsos are: using retranslators, repeaters, EME, as well as qsos worked by special modes / WSJT, PSK, HSCW etc./.

15. In case of dispute, the final decision is on VHF/UHF SRV Commission.
